Like a Duck to Water

Well, we started this year taking flight with birds and what can I say? Several have flown their way into Figg Street Co. this summer! We have a duck notebook, birds on napkins, and inks, elixirs and pencils inspired by our feathered friends. As a bird lover, it’s bringing me joy to unwrap each of these treasures as they’ve arrived at the shop. My hope is that they also bring you joy. 

Birds have a long history and association with stationery. Years ago, many wrote with a quill and bottle of ink on parchment. The sheer number and variety of birds have also been an inspiration to many makers of stationery and writing tools. Such colourful plumage with natural sheen and sometimes even iridescence. Nature really has a way of showing us what’s possible with colour!
