Truth (and Reconciliation)
“You can’t handle the truth!” Jack Nicholson as Colonel Jessep in A Few Good Men. “Hell is truth seen too late.” Thomas Hobbes. “Three things cannot long be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” Confucius.
Tomorrow is our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, so it seems an appropriate time to consider truth. Our recognition and acknowledgment of it, and how truth is the starting point in the reconciliation process. Truth is one of the pillars of trust and consciously honouring it can help each one of us live in integrity, prevent violence, and ultimately lead us to peace.
We hope this issue has inspired you to take some time for yourself and reflect. We wish you a peaceful Truth and Reconciliation Day tomorrow, and a beautiful beginning to the month of October!
