Yes, for the past couple of decades or so, white has been popular for interiors and home decor. But I'll share something with you: for the longest time, I really didn't like white walls or interiors. I preferred colour.

However, just a couple years ago, an interior designer convinced me to paint my walls at home white. I was reluctant at first, but eventually decided to give it a try. What do you know? It's now something I absolutely adore about my home. In fact, when it's late in the day, and the sunlight pours in through a window high up on the wall, the resulting light upon my white walls takes my breath away. It's delightful!

In January, there are many of us who experience the pure beauty of white. We may revel in the magic of snowflakes gently falling from the sky. Or awake to a fresh duvet of powdery snow outside, as yet unspoiled and sparkling like diamonds under sunlight. We may notice the changes in white throughout the day - surfaces such as walls, furniture, ceramic and the fresh, white page of a notebook appear different in the morning light versus midday versus sunset.

While I still have a love of colour, my appreciation has broadened to include white. At Figg Street Co., there are several shades of white that customers and I enjoy together. Let me walk you through a few of these items and share what makes each one of them special...

Do you love white? The experience of fresh snow? A clean, new page to create upon? We hope this new year has been off to a brilliant, creative start for you.
