Over the past few weeks, I’ve been placing several orders and receiving them, as they arrive at the Figg Street Co shop. It’s always fun to unbox stationery and other goods.

Recently, I was asked which items I’m most excited about right now in the store. There are a few things, and amongst them is the new Blackwing Volume 292, a tribute to the artist Keith Haring. His pencils feel playful and fun. I love the vibrancy of the colour choices of this volume; it’s a happy pencil to have on your desk!

I also love how Blackwing brought attention to Keith as an artist and what he believed in.

If you’d like to know more about Keith Haring, check out our Reverie section below. There, we also show an interview with George Harrison’s widow, Olivia, who discusses him and his guitar, which inspired the notebook created by Blackwing. There’s also another video of Blackwing’s staff selecting their favourite pencil volumes. It’s interesting to see a few popular ones amongst them. Which Blackwing volume is your favourite?

We hope this week’s issue has inspired you to put pencil to paper! I know there are many of us doing so as we make lists, jot down ideas, scribble notes and doodle. There’s a comfort in holding a pencil in my hand. Do you feel the same?
