A Portrait of the Artist as an Older Woman

A fresh, new year means new possibilities. And when thinking of possibilities, I cannot help but think of creativity. It’s through the act of creating that we make something new, after all. And while creativity takes many forms, I do enjoy the artistic. So much so that I’ve surrounded myself with the means and results of artistry all around me at Figg Street Co.

One of the joys of working in the shop is meeting so many people who express themselves with art. It may be through writing and drawing. Scrapbooking, bookbinding, calligraphy, junk journaling, and painting. Origami and papercrafts. Flower pressing. There are so many forms that I continue to discover and learn about. What type of artistic expression do you enjoy yourself and appreciate in others?
