Did you watch any coverage of the Artemis II mission in early April? This four-person flight around the moon included a Canadian crew member, astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

Just last week, the Artemis II crew’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was released (see our Reverie section below). Watching and listening to their experiences was astounding. It boggles the mind to attempt to contemplate what they’ve gone through and the courage they’ve demonstrated.

The interview contains many instances of inspiration and maybe surprisingly, stories of recognizable human moments. I was touched when the astronauts spoke of their journaling practice. For us stationery lovers, isn’t it out of this world to imagine humans journaling in outer space? (Sorry, couldn’t resist! 😉)

This space crew clearly have shown a strength of character. When I heard them discuss their choice of the name ‘Integrity’ for their spacecraft, it made me pause to take that in fully.

In addition to the personal stories about this expedition, there are many interesting facts that have recently come to my attention. For instance, do you know why the crew’s spacesuits are orange?

The spacesuits are a specific hue called ‘International Orange’. It’s a bright orange chosen for safety reasons. The colour is highly visible to search crews flying overhead.

In honour of the successful recent Artemis II flight, we’re zeroing in on a few orange items at Figg Street Co this week:

Thank you for spending some time with us this week to experience a bit of awe and wonder. Did you watch the Oprah interview? How did it make you feel? We hope it and this issue have given rise to new ideas and opportunities for what you can experience. We wish you an awe-inspiring week ahead!
