Sometimes it's amazing to realize that it wasn't all that long ago that women won the right to vote. And to be considered legal persons. There's so much we take for granted today, especially in our part of the world. There're still parts of the globe where women cannot walk outdoors freely or drive a car.

Today, Tuesday, March 8th is International Women's Day. It really stems from the female suffrage movement in the early 1900s. So many women who came before us demonstrated courage and conviction, paving the way for us.

Who're the women who inspire you in your life? What qualities in them do you admire? What qualities do you cultivate within yourself?

There are so many ways to use our thoughts, demeanor, resources and actions to benefit women. Women we know and women we don't know. Consider supporting organizations run by women and for women, female-owned businesses, charities, and non-profits that support women locally or globally.

If you've been lucky enough to have been inspired or supported by a woman in your life, consider letting them know. Celebrate them. Write them a letter or card, telling them how they've impacted you and how you feel about them.
