As the days of November get colder and darker, we’re drawn indoors and our rhythms ease. It’s a wonderful time to practice the slower art and craft forms, such as needlework, drawing and writing. Calligraphy is especially fitting. It’s a great time to learn a new font by hand to use on holiday décor, greeting cards and for any special upcoming occasions. 

I love calligraphy – the aesthetic, the flourishes, the mindfulness and slowing down. I enjoy looking at all the different fonts, some of which transport me to another time and place. Writing with a dip pen is an old world artform that feels nostalgic. What sentiments does it evoke for you?
