The write kind of ink

It's November! Late autumn is here, and darker days show it. While we may miss the sunlight, the evenings are now a fantastic backdrop for all manner of lights: spotlights and stringed versions outdoors, fairy lights, fireplaces and candlelight to cozy up next to inside. This can be a great time of year to contemplate things, to nest, to write. 

In looking ahead to the upcoming holidays, one of the first things we can do to feel more festive is select seasonal ink colours. It doesn’t matter if we’re writing in a journal, sending a note or making a list of tasks to do or items we’d like, seeing a new hue on paper can lift the spirits! What new colours have you wanted to try? Do you use a specific colour for the holidays? Do you like darker, moodier hues? The sparkle of shimmering inks?

Please note: since fountain pen inks are largely water-based, they can freeze (and expand) in their glass bottles in cold weather. Therefore, we halt shipping of ink bottles each winter. They can still be purchased online for pickup or directly at our Figg Street Co. shop in person. 

To get your bottles by post, please purchase by November 30. Shipping will then resume in the spring, when warmer temperatures return.

This past weekend we hosted our annual open house. It was a delight to see so many beautiful faces and kick off our holiday season! We wish you well in the coming weeks – writing, planning, making, decorating, dreaming, wrapping, wishing and gifting. We’ll be doing much of the same, right along with you.
