Have you been journaling this January? Many of us include journaling in our new year plans to start things off on a good foot. Some people started young and have kept a consistent habit, while others have dabbled here and there, or written in long and short spurts.

One of the fantastic things about journaling is there are no rules. And yet, if it’s rules you love, you can certainly create your own or follow a prescribed journaling method. A journal has many purposes and uses. It’s a tool to aid our memory, our mental health, and to express ourselves creatively. It can help us to develop a new habit, pinpoint the cause of a confusing emotion we’ve been experiencing, and provide us with pleasure when we look back at the things for which we’re grateful.

What kind of journal do you keep? A bullet journal? A junk journal? A craft journal? A sports journal? A gratitude journal? Do you have a few journals, each devoted to a specific purpose, or do you use one to hold all types of reflections, insights and ideas? Are you a doodler who includes visual art in the mix? We’d love to hear about your journaling experiences and preferences.

This week, instead of a Reverie section, we’re including a journal prompt section in our newsletter. Feel free to join us in responding to the prompt when you sit down with your journal. Let us know how you found it. Do you like writing prompts?

To add to your journaling inspiration, take a look at some of the beautiful notebooks and pens we currently have in stock at Figg Street Co:

We hope this issue inspires you to join along with your journal. Please note that we have a ‘Leave a comment’ section below. Feel free to comment with your responses to any questions we ask in our issues. It’s a delight to share experiences.
