Green is in the air here at Figg Street Co! It’s St. Patrick’s Day today and we’re also excited about the vernal equinox this week. Springtime and the upcoming Easter season bring to mind a certain palette – purples, yellows, pinks… but the one we’re focused on today is green!

Pastels evoke spring and we have several in the shop. The one we’re richest in right now is pastel green. It also happens to be a colour I adore. Sage, mint and many shades in between are on display and call to mind the trees, shrubs, grass, and plants beginning to emerge on branches, through the soil and in our parks and gardens.

Green is often used as a symbol for something new. New life. The materialization of green all around us from the grey and brown landscape is also a metaphor: from difficulties new and better things can be born and grow. And who amongst us wouldn’t like to see new and better things?

Now, it is March, which means our weather can be fickle. So, we’ll tread lightly into spring with a delicate pastel green focus this week as we glance across the shelves at the shop:

After our long and heavy winter, we’re ripe and ready for all shades of green this spring – how about you? We wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day today and First Day of Spring this Friday!
